The Mercer Island Kiwanis Club primarily supports community endeavors such as our local Boys and Girls Club, Youth and Family Services, Mercer Island Preschool Association, Mercer Island H.S. Key Club, and many more. Secondarily we often support such Eastside activities as the Eastside Baby Corner, Highland Center, as well as activities in the Seattle area such as the "Seattle metro-wide" Second Harvest, Nightwatch, Operation Cool, Boyer Clinic and others. Internationally we support the Kiwanis International Foundation who's most recent and completed goal had been to eliminate Iodine deficiency disorders (I.D.D.) from throughout the world. Traditionally all this support has largely--but not entirely--come from the net proceeds of safe and sane fireworks sales. While we are engaging in all of these activities we have lots of fun.
We meet at noon on Tuesdays at Island House. Those interested, especially in joining, are welcome to visit.
Just like the Marines we need a few good men and most especially, more good women.
